MHE Operator

Short Description

The position is responsible for operating various warehouse trucks/racks like forklifts; racks - pallet, drive-through and drive-in, push-back, sliding; trucks - hand, platform, order-picker, side-loader for the purpose of moving, locating, relocating, stacking and counting merchandise/products. It is also accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicles and may also be required to perform Order-Filler and Checker duties in addition to own tasks.

Key roles and responsibilities

- Receiving/Put-Away - unloads inbound shipments safely and removes product to storage locations

- Efficiently stacks and stores items in designated areas/slots

- Quality - Ensures that inbound/outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage and reports and quality variances

- Order-Picking - Pulls and prepares product for shipment and ensures accuracy and correctness of items loaded and shipped

- Performs picking duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service standards

- Loading - Efficiently moves products from staging and/or storage areas into cars

- Equipment - stevedores, moves, stacks and levels products and materials using MHEs - forklifts, clamp trucks or other power equipment

- Uses radio frequency equipment for picking/receiving, put-away and load functions as required

- Maintains the facility equipment and materials in a neat, clean and orderly fashion

- Regularly inspects and performs maintenance of all MHEs, ensuring all in top working conditions

- Inventory - Keeps appropriate records and reports to guarantee that tight inventory control and security are maintained

- Assists in physical inventories

- Ensures proper stock rotation/FIFO

- Safety, Sanitation, Security - Maintains a clean, neat and orderly working area.

- Assists in maintaining warehouse security and safety and general health standards

- Maintenance - Performs or assists in building, grounds and equipment upkeeping and preservations as required

- Performs other tasks as delegated by the Line Manager
